Friends of the Gallery 2023

So happy to be part of The Friends of the Gallery (FOG) exhibition this year. It features the work of members of the Sunshine Coast Arts Council. The exhibition is a long-standing community event that has spanned more than 25 years. Its aim is to involve the broadest range of local artists, to acknowledge the role of the arts in our community, and to celebrate the extraordinary diversity in materials, forms and approach.

This year, artists were invited to submit a work that considers “The Weather”. On the Coast, 2022 has been a year of weather extremes, with new words to describe them – atmospheric rivers, heat domes, deep freezes and many others. I painted a Winter themed painting as we had such a big winter snow storm this past Christmas that was beautiful although a pain in the but for travel.

I thought this was a cool use of masks.

I am not sure how this person created it but very unique use of pill bottles.  Not sure if this is a Taxidermy?

Love seeing so many creative works all created on the coast. What a great place to live and create!
