Grief and Healing

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Winnie the Pooh

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you’ll learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and David Kessler

Losing someone close to you whether that's because of a death, a divorce, or the ending of a friendship is hard. Along with the initial shock, it's a challenge when you have to go on and learn how to navigate the future without them by your side. And because the grieving process is different for everyone, it can often be lonely and isolating. Being in a Pandemic is full of grief and the world is grieving for the ones who have passed, and the life we had before Covid. To process some of my grief that has impacted our family, recently, with the loss of our dear, sweet dog/ best friend Cooper; I  have been painting. Being creative can be a great way to handle the stresses of  life and loss. It has been of great comfort to me during the pandemic and most certainly during the holidays with out my boy, my pal Cooper.

Here are a few of the art creations, I explored my emotions with during the holidays.
