ADELE - Rolling In The Deep - Another Creative woman...

When we went to Montreal two years ago, I bought the CD Adele 19 and loved it. Now she has Adele 21 which is also great! Adele or Adele Laurie Blue Adkinshas has my name too. She must be creative....

Well, Adele is  a very creative musician from England.  She was the first recipient of the BRIT Awards Critics' Choice and was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2008 in an annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2008. In 2009, Adele won two Grammy Awards, Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, at the 51st Grammy Awards.

She has described her musical style as "heartbroken soul".

The table is decorated for dinner.

                                                                 The family together!
Easter is a time of new beginnings. Easter takes place in spring brings light and new life. The Saxon goddess Oestre or Eastre is the goddess of dawn and spring and female hormone- thus eggs. As a goddess of fertility birth is the essence.
 So with all this in mind that we now reflect on our lives and make new beginnings in our lives. Being creative is one way we need to fill fullfilled. So on Easter as many families we make a wonderful meal. This year a roast, roast potatoes and carrots with rosemary, yorkshire pudding as mom always did. Then pumpkin pie homemade, with a lemon cake and chocolate bunnies. We put out the best linens and silver ware and dishes all from grama and mom, keeping the traditions going. Dave bought me flowers. and we displayed eggs we had made one easter with Maiya, Odelia, Graeme, Dave and myself. I also put out yellow spring flowers from the garden and an egg wreath centre piece. It was a definite display of honouring the goddess Ostra! Yes, we folks in Canada are so blessed with abundance and must appreciate all we have.

Remembering my mom

Odelia and I painted this rock and put it in garden. It is our way of remembering my mom and her grama.

These are some of the flowers coming up in the garden that we planted in the fall.

 We also planted some summer bulbs as a tribute to mom as well. Then Dave, Odelia and I went to the beach and enjoyed the view and the sun shining on us.

I think mom would have liked that and was smiling with us.

Love You Paulean MacHale!

Knitting a Cable Scarf

Knitting this cable scarf is my first project with cable. I think it turned out pretty good. I like cable my only problem seems to be keeping track of the cable needle. I lost one and still have yet to find it! Ugh!

This pattern is from Patons. I only made one change and that is to not add a pom pom to the ends of the scarf. I am not as into pom poms but it can easily be added. The length is also a bit longer than the pattern. The length of the scarf is 75 inches and the width is 3.5 inches. I will put it on my etsy shop for those interested in buying a scarf, perhaps preparing for Christmas or birthdays. I can also take orders and make a scarf any colour and length you like.

Cable Coffee Mug Cozy and Creative Friendship

Having started cable knit sticthced the past few weeks, I am now trying all sorts of projects to practise and become better at it. This project is fun and easy and is a Patons pattern. I knit this for a dear friend- Victoria -another crazy knitter. She made a cool cowl that she gave me and I thought I could give her some thing knitted. I hope she loves it! And it keeps her hands protected from burns.

 I think it turned out pretty well even if I made a few mistakes. I think it maybe even a fun project to put on etsy. I could do different colours, yarns and take requests too.

Here is a photo of Victoria and me with my new cowl she knitted. I love the colour and cable and yarn...so soft.

We had fun knitting the weekend she and her daughter Bronwyn came to visit us. It is fun being creative with friends. I treasure that time and inspiration we give each other.

Sunday afternoon Creative Cookiez

What a lazy Sunday! After a long walk with Cooper, yes the rain started hindering our goals to get in the garden. So instead it was a lazy day to read, knit and bake. Dave made these amazing cookies- chocolate chip raisin oatmeal cookies.-Yummy and healthy!

Oh and yes a cup of tea was enjoyed with the yummy cookies.

Here is the recipe adapted from a standard oatmeal recipe.

*  1/2 cups  or more chocolate chips
* 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 1/4 cups old-fashioned oats, not instant or quick-cook used oatmeal with flax seed and other yummy ingredients
* 1/4 cup water
*  1/2 cups  brown sugar
* 1/2 cup butter, softened at room temperature or micrwave to help
*1/2 cup or what you desire Raisins
350 for oven on greased cookie sheet
Directions:
 Cream butter and sugar and then add dry ingredients and lastly chocolate chips and raisins.

 We freeze half the dough in a tube shape in baking paper to make fresh another time. It also keeps you from eating too many at once.

Creative Jewellery Making of Rings

I have been busy this week making some new jewellery pieces to put in my Etsy shop. So please go check it out. I am really enjoying making the rings as something new to try out. I am using wire that is silver plated permanent coloured as it is better to try out before using silver. As well it is less expensive and I can charge according to that. It makes the rings affordable.I might delve into silver once I have had enough experience and find a market.It is fun trying new styles and colour beads to see what looks good.

Conntact me if you have a specific colour you may desire and I can custom make them.

Here are a few samples of my rings.

I am currently part of the Canadian team of handmade artisits on etsy so shop Canadian.
