Well finally the sun was out after along two weeks of wintery weather that has kept us on our toes. Will it rain, snow, hail or a rainbow? It has made spring break a bit of a challenge in terms of finding fun things to do. Hwever we plugged through. Amara came up to visit us for five days and the girls had a blast. They went swimming, skating and we enjoyed many walks. We did our nails...so spring like and pretty. We chose colours like salmon, lilac, and spring green. It did take many coats to get them perfect! This past Sunday, Dave and I got out to Dakota Ridge for a beautiful day of sunshine and snow. I had wanted to take the girls to Seymour but the weather turned warm and rain was out so we didn't hit the mountain. Cooper had a ball playing in the snow, jumping and eating the snow. It seems winter has gone by with with a few wind storms, threats of snow and snow for many areas, some westcoast rain then warm air and then cold air. However, today as I ponder the state of education and the state of humanity and the lack of respect that is given to teachers, children and many other workers, hard workers. I wonder what is happening to us. Why don't we care for one another? Why is it okay to treat others badly? Why do people under value education? These are only a few questions, I have of course. I guess as humans we don't value ourselves. Because as well all know what we do to others we do to ourselves or how we treat others is how we want to be treated. So perhaps we have to stop and reflect on how we want to be treated and ask for that. That is what I am doing as a teacher when I protest these three days. I am asking for respect and fairness in negotiating a contract that works for everyone not just the government. As a parent, I am asking that my child...

This past month has been a bit dreary...typical January. But luckily my pals have come over for a visit making the month so much fun. By the end of January, on a walk blosssoms were found giving hope of springs soon arrival. Berenice and Amira came over for one night and well we ate yummy food, laughed lots, celebrated Odelia's bday and went for a wintery walk. A misty photo.... Jen and Raine came ove the last weekend of January. We planned on snow shoeing but the weather was not great so we went for a hike/ walk in Cliff Gillker forest and a walk along the beach in Gibsons. We got to laugh, talk and catch up. The dogs had a blast too. Sage and Cooper ran around and played until they were pooped out. Even in the winter we are so blessed to live tin the beautiful part of the world. So much fun with the girls! Dave unfortunately had to put up with alot of girl energy....sorry honey. One topic of conversation surrounded the Dukan Diet and The Happiness ...

This is one song I liked but there are many. Serena is from Ontario. She also cover various artists and sings with a varietyof talent. She won best new artisit award in 2008. That is how far behind I am.....Oh well! Hee Hee!! Life right!!! Better late than never! Much like many things in life. ..... I feel "weak in the knees" as Dave and I are on the Dukan diet.....ha ha fourth day and well one more sleep until next phase.....It has been interesting and successful. We needed a kick start to lose those Christmas pounds. It is pretty outside with the snow. Took Cooper for a walk and boy is the air crisp. It was fun and even better with my Ipod music and tracking fitness component. Ah off to a good start with the New Year resolutions. Hope to get up to the moutain soon and so some snow shoeing.

I  first heard this song by an amazing group from the tv show Sing Off (which has had some amazing singers) Pentatonix. Well this group Pentatonix is truly  unique and well I got goose bumps listening to their performance of this song with no instuments. Florence and the Machine originally did the song. I also love the Florence and the Machines version and video so I wanted to share them both. I only recently listened to Florence and the machine and I am excited to listen to more of their work.
