My cousin Nikki's dog Smooch was painted in acrylic on a 8 by 10 canvas.  My friend Janet's kittens were painted in Acrylic on canvas 8 by 10. My dog Juno painted in acrylic on a wood panel. It has been fun trying some new subjects to paint. It was my goal to challenge myself after I had my work displayed at the Gumboot in April to try out portrait painting. Besides Frida Kahlo is seems pets and animals have been a good subject for me to try. I am open to commissions so reach out if you are interested.

 Pottery is a medium, I have recently taken more time and effort in. These are some pieces I think are fun.  I used water colour paper, collage, textures, and other mark making for the background. Then I used charcoal to draw Frida and lastly acrylic paints. Brave, mixed media large painting of Frida. I have been exploring many different mediums and techniques around portraiture with Frida as my muse. I recently took my pottery journey to the next level by buying a kiln and pottery wheel and setting up half of my studio for pottery. I made some plates and a bowl and then painted a Frida Kahlo Portrait on them. The Bowl had some carving on the sides and red glaze on the outside. This plate was made from a mold. I used a stamp LOVE and then painted the portrait all with underglaze and glaze and then did a clear glaze on top. The plate is also made from a mold and glazed with a last coat of clear. I wish I did not put clear glaze on top of the red and black glaze as they turned out to be lighter.
