Poppies

Image
One flower that made my mom really happy is the poppy. She wanted to paint a poppy painting for me and didn't get a chance. Before she died, she did buy me a print of a painting of a poppy. Hence my poppy painting obsession. Last summer, I took many photos of poppies and enjoyed them in my garden that also inspired me to paint so many of them. I like painting poppies in water colour and in acrylic and trying different techniques. This has been a fun creative project. I am excited as spring has sprung and the flowers will start to bloom to give me more inspiration. 5 by 7 - Poppies- water colour painting in black frame $30 Poppy Water colour painting  in black frame 5 by 7  $30 Poppy  Acrylic on canvas 4 by 4  $30 with an easel Acrylic painting on canvas-  12 by 7  $50 Acrylic Poppy on canvas 5 by 7 $30 Poppy  Acrylic on wood with resin can sit on shelf or hang 3.5 by 4 inches $20 Poppy  Water colour on wood with resin large -13 by 3  inches $...

I am home recovering from my pacemaker surgery. So what better way to relax without physical exertion than some painting time. With Easter coming, I decided to do some Easter theme water colour cards and art. I am hoping to sell the cards for $5 each. I have 20 different cards. So if you are interested message me and I can Facetime with you to show you all the various designs. I can either meet you, drop off or mail items.  I am going to donate 10 percent of sales to the BC Society of Transition Houses. The BC Society of Transition Houses is a member-based, provincial umbrella organization that, through leadership, support and collaboration, enhances the continuum of services and strategies to respond to, prevent and end violence against women, children and youth. https://bcsth.ca    The water colour paintings in the frames are for sale at $20 each. The frames are 5 by 7 inches.   I also have some acrylic art that goes with the Easter theme. I painted these in ...

Living on the Sunshine Coast is such a blessing. I am so fortunate to get to walk my dog Cooper and enjoy all the beauty surrounding us. Cliff Gilker in the fall is such an amazing place to spend time. The leaves, the light the trees, the waterfalls are so magical, a fairy land to play in. Another favourite spot is Davis Bay with the sand, birds, logs and clouds.  If you are lucky you will see some whales or kite surfers gliding along the shore. Never a dull day that is for sure. Sechelt has a variety of beauty with forest walks and ocean shores. I am never at a loss of where next to explore. The tug boats are entertainment as they carry logs or gravel or other types of materials. Our coast is a spendor with eagles over head and seals bobbing along the in the wavey shore line. I hope you too are enjoying some beauty on our coast. There is truly some much to give thanks for.

Acrylic Pour Painting

Acrylic Pour Painting Last summer and this fall, I have tried a painting technique called "Acrylic Pour" I have to say this is very relaxing and freeing. It is a fun way to play with colour and not be stuck on creating something realistic. (5 x 7)     (5 x 7)  Supplies that you need to do Acrylic pour painting: something to painting on like wood, canvas or paper  acrylics paint silicone or dish soap some people try floetrol pour medium water containers or cups to put the painting in  plastic under area to protect where you are working a tray to catch the paint I made a video of this process so here is the link. There are many youtube videos that show the steps as well. Step one:choose paint colours that complement each other Step two: put paint in a cup or a few cups depending on how you want to pur the paint on the canvas Step three: pour paint and tilt the canvas the way you want to  Step four: you can use a heat gun or hair dryer to help the cells ...
