Creative Adventurez and Findz

This is one song I liked but there are many. Serena is from Ontario. She also cover various artists and sings with a varietyof talent. She won best new artisit award in 2008. That is how far behind I am.....Oh well! Hee Hee!! Life right!!! Better late than never! Much like many things in life. ..... I feel "weak in the knees" as Dave and I are on the Dukan diet.....ha ha fourth day and well one more sleep until next phase.....It has been interesting and successful. We needed a kick start to lose those Christmas pounds. It is pretty outside with the snow. Took Cooper for a walk and boy is the air crisp. It was fun and even better with my Ipod music and tracking fitness component. Ah off to a good start with the New Year resolutions. Hope to get up to the moutain soon and so some snow shoeing.

I  first heard this song by an amazing group from the tv show Sing Off (which has had some amazing singers) Pentatonix. Well this group Pentatonix is truly  unique and well I got goose bumps listening to their performance of this song with no instuments. Florence and the Machine originally did the song. I also love the Florence and the Machines version and video so I wanted to share them both. I only recently listened to Florence and the machine and I am excited to listen to more of their work.  Dave and I made the pizza dough which  takes about 2 hours in total. However we made two batches so one was put in the freezer.Then Dave added his favourite toppings: mushrooms, green pepper, bacon, pepperoni, tomatoe sauce and of course mozzarella cheese.  Cooper wanted some too!  Yummy! Looks better than some restaurants and well it was very delicious!!!!! Happy New Year! A good way to start the new year with yummy food.

These are a few of my favourite things about Christmas! I love the Christmas Cactus Blooming with the vivid colour. I have this Cactus from my Nana Jean.She was a good gardener and knitter extraordinaire. I love the Ameryllis blooming. Each year it is exciting to plant the bulb and see it grow wonderign will it bloom by Christmas. This year I planted the one from last year and it grew but did not bloom so I bought another one and now it is blooming . Even though it wasn't ready for Christmas it is still a tradition from the family I like to continue. Seeing the beauty of this flower reminds me of family especially my mom and nana and all the christmases we shared together. I love making Christmas Cookies.It is so much fun. This year Pearl taught us how to make traditional shortbread. We had a wonderful day with Christmas music on and our christmas aprons too.                                                                        Happy Halloween!  Odelia carved this Cat....  Dave and I did the scaryYYYYYY one.....     Although Odelia is getting older and we may not do all the things we used to we are still having some fun this Halloween. We got her costume together last weekend, she is going as Willy Wonka, a girl version. Then this weekend we made Candy corn Sugar cookies for her school party on October 31st. Odelia and I watched Charlie Brown Halloween cartoon The Great Pumpkin.... We watched some funny Halloween episodes of Modern Family and the Office. ...

Ever since living in Mexico, I have fallen in love with Frida Kahlo.She is such an interesting looking person and so complex.I went to where she live in Mexico and bought many of her paintings, well prints.  She is an amazing strong woman. She over came many obstacles from her pain and surgeries after her accident, to her inability to have a child. She is an inspiration. As well, her artistic style is unique and I like that. She has many colours and symbols that relate to the politics of Mexico.  I would recommed seeing that movie about her life with Salma Hayek . It gives a great over view of her life.The acting is great too.
